Little Mermaid

So many little girls are mermaid crazy, and so is this one. She's been wanting a tail for a while, and today's beach session gave her one, for a little while. It was too cool to actually go into the water, so we played in the sand.

Jellyfish

We went to the beach, and normally it's a lovely place, but there were moon jellyfish and someone got stung. The stuffy is to remind us what happened. And while the last few weeks there have been a lot of jellies in the water, today wasn't the case. But it only takes one little one to make a big impact.

Daisy Girl Scout fun weekend

This weekend we had two Daisy events. One was a opera called Cosi fan Tutti. It's a shortened version, friendly for child attendance, although once you get into, the story is fairly adult. It's about two couples. the men of the couples are told that women are fickle, and that if they go away, the women will stray. So they have to put it to the test. But half the kids did not understand it, and were amused by all the shenanigans.

Actor from the show
Early the next morning we did a beach cleanup. And 7AM is Early for this child, who normally wakes up around 9-10 AM. But doing something with friends will always motivate her. And she loves the beach.

Done cleaning up!

Nha Trang

Nha Trang is a port city, with a lot of development going on. It's got a lot of international tourists and is rather ritzy now. The beaches are beautiful and there's scuba diving that I want to try some time. But it is January, and rather cool for the beach for us. Not colder than it is in Florida either, but cool.
These guy are had trimming the median trees. The house in the back is pretty nice too.

Mui Ne - Beachfront relaxation

I had a hair to learn to kiteboard and this was the best, most reasonably priced place to do it. Mui Ne is know for fairly constant winds, and is a windsport mecca. So we looked at several hotel before picking one. The one at the right was pretty, but a little too pricy. Finally we found one and I found out that they had a kiteboarding school right behind them.
