1st grade Curriculum 2010-2011

This is our first official year of homeschooling. I lean toward the classical approach with a liberal amount of Asian studies and living studies(read road trips). We do school 5-6 days a week.

Math - Right Start B
Reading - Living books in both English and Vietnamese.
Handwriting - Vietnamese practice books - cursive
Vietnamese - 1st Grade VN national curriculum
English Writing - The Complete Writer: Writing with Ease
English  Spelling - Spell to Write and Read
Social Studies - Mosaic Curriculum using The Story of the World 1: Ancient Times
and The Usborne Internet-Linked Encyclopedia Of World History

Science - Ancient Science, Building Foundations of Scientific Understanding

Art - Artistic Pursuits
Music - Choice of Recorder, Keyboard or glockenspiel. Sometimes ukulele, which is really Moms instrument.
